It has been a prolonged time since Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo has witnessed a cruise ship in their waters due to safety matters in general, involving both crime and a pier deemed inadequate. March 2nd of 2016 it wasn't hard to spot the ship that currently sits gracefully in the centre of Zihuatanejo's bay, and we are overjoyed to learn that cruise ships will now be visiting more frequently.

1. The last cruise ship that visited Zihuatanejo until now was in 2014.
2. The cruise ship Seven Seas Mariner that is presently here, holds 682 tourists and 481 workers.
3. This 2016, Zihuatanejo is expecting a total of 5 cruises visiting.
4. Zihuatanejo's pier was built in the 1950's.
5. The first cruise ship to arrive in Zihuatanejo was in 1971, named Princess Italia. 
6. In the 1990's Zihuatanejo had 90 cruise ship visits in just one season. 
7. Zihuatanejo predicts an estimated total income of $800,000 pesos from the tourists of cruise ship: Seven Seas Mariner
